Members of the Islandview Drive and Area Ratepayers’ Association met at Centennial Park early on May 19th to pitch in to beautify the local park.

The Association had contributed money to buy ten lilac trees to plant on the upper part of the park, next to the road.  The vision to beautify the park, along with the ever important “magic growth elixir” were contributed by Keith Davidson.

Everyone involved rounded up rocks to make the beds to contain the lilac trees.  Ken Sly, Cal Confer, Bill and Pam Wilson, Sue Crutcher, Keith Elliott, Bonnie and Dennis Cooper all helped by digging earth, carrying and placing rocks (there is a reason they call it “Stoney Keppel”!) and planting the lilac trees.

Everyone put in their best effort and got their hands dirty!

Three birdhouses were also mounted on surrounding trees.

A job well done by all.

Centennial ParkPlease stop by Centennial Park and see and enjoy the fruits of our labour!
